A guest lecture by Alexander Anufrienko, Director of R&D at National IT Center (Rostec), took place on 19.11.2018. 

Alexander spoke about errors that may happen during the process of  IoT systems design and development. Such systems are based on HW solutions, so SW’s approaches like publishing patches are impossible. In this case the cost of the errors is high. And the effects might include failures in business processes and problems with goal achievement as a whole.

During the lecture Alexander discussed the main definitions in the fields of IoT (Internet of Things) and IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things); showed an IoT system from the client’s view. A range of challenges faced by IIoT was also described in details. Alexander has also considered a number of practical cases and in conclusion he has pointed out factors leading to success.
