HSE Student Team Won Russian Information Security Club (RISC) Championship

Team of students from the master’s programme in Information Security Management took third place in theRussian Information Security Club (RISC), an information security case competition.

The national information security case championship, organized by the Russian Information Security Club, is a case study event for undergraduate and postgraduate students. Young professionals who graduate in information security often lack practical skills and experience of solving real tasks. The case study method is widely used in business education and is considered to be one of the most effective educational methods today. Students are invited to solve a case from the experience of Russian and international information security officers, in a short period of time.

Over 100 teams participated in the first round of the case championship, but only 12 of them made it through to the finals, where HSE was represented by two teams made up of students from the Master’s programme in Information Security Management at the Faculty of Business and Management.

HSE team ‘Iriski’ (Alexander Khudyshkin, Ksenia Gyrnets, Albina Akserova, and Andrey Eli) took third place. The results of the competition were published on the event website (in Russian).

The event jury, guests, partners, and sponsors were large companies operating in information security, such as InfoWatch, Asterix Systems, OKB SAPR, Acronis, Expert Systems, Information System Academy, Yandex, and Solar security.

Administration and teachers of the Faculty of Business and Management would like to thank all the students who participated in the championship for their initiative and effort and wish them further victories and achievements in both their professional and academic careers!
